This post will be about keyboard layouts. There are two main keyboard layouts. Not as in where the keys are but that the keys do. There is the standard qwerty keyboard and Dvorak. Most keyboards come as qwerty originally. The keyboard you are using right now it probably qwerty. You can tell by the top row from left to right spells qwerty. Not all the way across the top row but the first 6 keys. This keyboard layout is the default that almost everyone uses. The way qwerty was invented was to make it so that people would type slower. This is because when it was invented people used typewriters and if they typed to fast the bars they controlled would collide and it would jam. This is now not a big deal if someone fast because we don't use typewriters anymore. On a qwerty keyboard the more commonly use keys were put further apart as so the bars would not hit. This is still a good keyboard layout because we are used to it. Next is the Dvorak keyboard layout. Dvorak is a good keyboard layout because it puts the most commonly used keys on home row. This keyboard layout is used to make you type a efficiently as possible. It also causes less strain on the wrists and hands because of this. I personally still us qwerty but Dvorak is a better layout overall and you can give it a try if you want.
